On Wednesday, June 3, 2026, members of Thom Child & Family Services leadership teams from across the state attended a special celebration at the Massachusetts State House honoring the 50th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, known as IDEA.
Hosted through a partnership between the Massachusetts Early Intervention Division and the Massachusetts Early Intervention Consortium (MEIC), this meaningful event recognized the profound impact of IDEA and the essential role Early Intervention plays in supporting infants, toddlers, and families across the Commonwealth.
The celebration included reflections on the history of IDEA, recognition of legislative champions, and powerful stories from families, providers, and leaders whose voices highlighted the lasting value of Early Intervention services. The event also honored the dedication of the Early Intervention workforce and the many partners who help ensure that children and families have access to the supports they need during the earliest and most critical years of development.
Thom was proud to be represented at this important statewide event. As the largest Early Intervention provider in Massachusetts, Thom remains deeply committed to advancing the promise of IDEA by providing family-centered, relationship-based services that help children learn, grow, and thrive in their everyday routines and communities.
We are grateful to the Massachusetts Early Intervention Division, MEIC, legislators, families, and providers who came together to celebrate this milestone and reaffirm the importance of Early Intervention in Massachusetts.
