The health and safety of our employees and the families we serve is the number one priority of Thom Child and Family Services. As we move forward during these ever-changing times, please know that while we are providing early intervention services through telepractice, we deeply miss working with children and families face-to-face. As an agent of public health, it is our responsibility to carefully and thoughtfully plan for the safest possible return to in-person services, and so, that is exactly what we have been doing.
Recent guidance from the Department of Public Health states that “For the protection of clients and staff, Welcome Family, EIPP, and EI should continue to prioritize the use of telehealth services where clinically appropriate and feasible for a given participant/client.” Considering this guidance as well as additional state guidance and input from our advisors, Thom Child and Family Services will continue to prioritize providing early intervention services remotely.
As we prepare for a return to limited, in-person visits, Thom Child and Family Services is diligently working to adhere to the comprehensive guidelines and policies to help minimize transmission of COVID-19. This preparation takes time and careful consideration due to the complex nature of home visiting. The safety measures we are putting in place include policies for infection control, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), daily health screenings, and many other safety measures. Prior to any in-person visits, staff, families, and community partners will be provided with written guidance on Thom’s protocols.
Thank you for choosing Thom Child and Family Services for your family’s early intervention services. Thank you also for understanding our need to prioritize the health and safety of your family, our staff, and the communities where we live and work. If you have any questions about your family’s services, please contact your service coordinator, Thom program director, or if you feel more comfortable, you can submit questions/concerns via the Thom website here: https://www.thomchild.org/contact-thom/ .
