Expanding Our Leadership Team at Thom Marlboro
Thom Marlboro Area Early Intervention is pleased to announce three new Assistant Team Leaders. This new position was developed to expand the leadership at our program and provide further support for our staff. The Assistant Team Leaders help train and mentor staff and support the Team Leaders and Program Director.
Congratulations to our new Assistant Team Leaders:
- Susan Shepard, Licensed Mental Health Counselor,
- Leigh Mumford, Music Therapist, and
- Margaret Szulga, Speech Language Pathologist.
Susan is celebrating her 18th year at Thom Marlboro as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor! She has fulfilled many different roles over the years but the closest to her heart is Group Coordinator. She says she is lucky enough to share this role with a colleague who is a great support (shout out to Tracie DeBraga). When not at work, she can be found in her kitchen or hanging out with friends and family. Her latest obsession is playing chess.
Leigh has been a practicing music therapist for 13 years. She has been working in early intervention at Thom for 10 years with the last 4 years at the Marlboro program. When not at work, you can find Leigh reading or hosting book clubs in her free time. If she’s not reading, she’s outside spending time with her dogs, or hanging upside down from circus apparatus.
Margaret has been working at the Thom Marlboro Area program as a speech-language pathologist for 14 years. Their clinical special interests include working with autistic and deaf/hard-of-hearing clients. They are currently pursuing a clinical doctorate in speech-language pathology with a research focus of autism at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. When they’re not working with their EI families or doing coursework, Margaret enjoys spending time with their husband and dog, running, and doing flying trapeze.
