Early Intervention Programs

▸ Music and Movement

This group is a music and movement group for children and caregivers to join our Speech-Language Pathologist and Educator as they are encouraged to work on and master new skills and concepts. We use songs and musical instruments to support developing a sense of rhythm, body awareness, communication (including imitation skills and following directions) and social interaction skills. Parents actively participate in this group with their children. Siblings under 3 years are also welcome to join us! This group is held in coordination with the Watertown Family Center at the Hosmer School.

Wednesdays 9:00-10:00 AM (Ages 18-36 months)

▸ Floor Time Together

Children learn ways to address sensory and emotional regulatory difficulties, joint attention, engagement, and two-way communication. We provide a consistent play routine including songs, movement-based play, books and art or sensory activities. Together we foster positive parent-child interactions through our group routines!

Tuesdays 11:00 AM-12:00 PM (Ages 24-36 months)

▸ Tremendos Pequenos

This group is conducted in Spanish with the Waltham Family School. A wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities are offered based on the needs/interests of children and are structured to follow a consistent routine. Circle time, fine and gross motor activities, and story time are incorporated into the group. The group promotes language skills, imitation, learning to follow directions, socialization, motor development and independence with self-care skills. We encourage parents to bring any questions they may have about child development for discussion with our group.
