Meet the Staff

Thom Westfield Infant Toddler Services (WITS) is in the business of helping children and their families achieve their goals. We recognize that our success depends on the skills and experience of the people who work for us. Thom Westfield Infant Toddler employs over 70 full and part-time staff members: teachers, counselors, nurses, social workers and therapists, many of them fluent in Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian and Sign Language.

Meet some of our dedicated staff:

Barb has worked at Thom WITS as parent liaison for eighteen years. Her involvement with Early Intervention began after her son, now 33, was enrolled in the program. Barb’s work at Thom WITS includes being a transition specialist, resource coordinator and advisor to staff who are working on Early Intervention Specialist Certification just to name a few.

Courtney is a Speech and Language Pathologist who has worked at Thom WITS for twelve years. She has a special interest in working with children who have childhood apraxia of speech, oral motor and/or feeding difficulties. Courtney and other members of the Thom WITS team are also working hard to improve outcomes for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Courtney is also trained in the SCERTS model. SCERTS focuses on building competence in Social Communication, Emotion Regulation and Transactional Support for children with moderate to severe Speech and Language delays.

Suzy “loves working with the children, families and the great staff at Thom WITS!” In the past, she has worked with adults with developmental disabilities, in childcare and taught English as a second language. As far as this twenty plus year veteran Early Interventionist is concerned, “This is the best job!”

Marion has been an Early Intervention Social Worker for nineteen years. Prior to Early Intervention she worked as an Outreach Therapist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In her spare time, Marion composed an “EI Theme Song” which Thom WITS staff members have been known, on occasion, to perform.

Melissa hails originally from Oklahoma. She has worked as an Early Intervention Occupational Therapist in both Massachusetts and Arizona and has been with WITS for the past twelve years. Prior to working in Early Intervention, Melissa worked with adults who were recovering from Stroke and as a Pediatric Mental Health Counselor. Her areas of special interest include feeding, motor development and prematurity. She is also the proud mom of three young children.
