FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Norwood – May 1, 2007 – Peter Woodbury, Executive Director of Thom Child & Family Services and Donna Frodyma, Early Intervention Program Director, are pleased to announce the re-naming of the Early Intervention Program located at 198 Vanderbilt Avenue in Norwood to Thom Neponset Valley Early Intervention. Although the name has changed, the Program’s experienced Early Intervention staff members will continue to serve children and their families from twelve South Norfolk County communities they have served for the past ten years.

Thom Neponset Valley Early Intervention provides intervention and support for children birth to three years old and their families who live in Canton, Dedham, Foxboro, Medfield, Millis, Norfolk, Norwood, Plainville, Sharon, Walpole, Westwood and Wrentham. The program offers parent support and educational groups and playgroups for children who are eligible for Early Intervention Services because of a special need or developmental delay. A limited number of spaces in playgroups are also reserved for toddlers from the community at large to participate. In addition to services offered at the Norwood program site, Thom Neponset Valley Early Intervention offers play groups at St. Timothy Parish in Norwood and therapeutic home visiting services provided by teachers, speech, occupational and physical therapists, and other family support staff.
