Waltham: Many Thanks to Wild Child from Thom Charles River
10-Jan-2012Thom Charles River Early Intervention would like to thank Wild Child in Arlington Center for their generous donation!
When Angie needed a new car seat, her mother asked Thom Charles River Early Intervention clinician, Mindy, for help.
Angie is a sweet 30 month-old girl with a seizure disorder and decreased motor control due to a traumatic brain injury. She is not yet able to hold her head up or sit without support. Because of Angie's motor needs, her new car seat would have to provide additional head, neck and trunk support.
Mindy contacted another family whose child was a graduate of Thom Charles River Early Intervention. That mother, whose son had also needed a more supportive carseat, leaped into action. She knew just the carseat, but it would cost over $300 - a price that was just too steep for Angie's family. She then contacted Lauren Gogolak, the owner of Wild Child in Arlington Center, to see if she could be of any help. Lauren generously offered to donate a brand new Britax Boulevard car seat!
Many thanks to Lauren Gogolak and Wild Child. Wild Child is an independent children's retail boutique located at 5 Medford Street in Arlington, Ma. Their website is http://wildchildgear.com/.
